Fred continues to wait by the apartment door, then returns to ringing the call button.\u00a0 He smiles at Peggy. Peggy smiles back, weakly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Again, Fred stands next to the door to wait for the unlock signal, but there’s no answer. Fred looks dejected. He removes his hand from the doorknob and starts to walk back to the car.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Just then, someone runs up to the apartment door and simply walk in. The door has been unlocked all the time. Fred laughs. Peggy smiles, again weakly.\u00a0 He waves to Peggy and goes into the apartment house.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Bye!” says Peggy, smiling. Her smile fades, and she turns away to start her car.\u00a0<\/p>\n
